About Us
Founded in Milan in 1928 under the Ricignolo 1928 brand name, GTI was born from a vision that combines craftsmanship with experience in fibers. Right from the start, the company distinguished itself by its careful search for the rarest and most valuable natural fibers-such as cashmere, alpaca, silk, mohair and wool-turned into yarns of extraordinary quality through processing that enhances every detail.
Over time, new energies and skills have consolidated GTI's mission: to create yarns that combine tradition, innovation and aesthetic sense, without ever sacrificing excellence. Initially active with external production and a direct sales outlet in Milan, the company moved to Biella in 1988, starting internal production capable of responding to growing market demand, with the establishment of its current headquarters in Verrone in 1995.
In 2015, joining the Suedwolle group further strengthens the brand's positioning in the luxury yarn segment, projecting it into an international dimension. Today, the GTI collections take shape in the two plants in Verrone and Mongrando, where the entire production cycle, from raw fiber to finished yarn, is managed in-house, with processes of combed and carded spinning, linear and fancy twisting, gauzing, gumming and packaging.
Dyeing is entrusted to selected local dyehouses, guaranteeing quality, reliability and sustainability. The result is a production that keeps alive the timeless elegance of Made in Italy, combining technical precision, creativity and deep respect for the raw material. Each thread tells a story of beauty and authenticity, the result of a passion that spans nearly a century of textile history.
